A reciprocating compressor is a positive displacement compressor that uses a crankshaft-driven piston and cylinder to compress the air. A single-stage reciprocating air compressor works by drawing the air into the cylinder where it is compressed in a single piston stroke of approximately 120 PSI and then sent to a storage tank. A two-stage compressor includes an additional step where the air is compressed by a second, smaller piston to a pressure of up to 175 PSI.
Reciprocating Compressors
Cost-effective and long-lasting compressors for light to heavy-duty industrial applications

TS Series 5-30 HP Reciprocating Air Compressor
ELGi Reciprocating air compressors are designed for optimum efficiency while requiring minimum maintenance to meet your demands of compressed air. These compressors are recommended for applications that would require duty cycle less than 70% . For duty cycle higher than 70% , we would recommend our lubricated screw air compressor.
Features:
- ASME coded relief valve for interstage and tank pressure
- All components completely pre-piped, pre-wired and operationally tested
- Magnetic starter ensures smooth start and stop of the motor
- NEMA Premium efficiency motor as a standard feature
- ASME coded air receiver tanks that are safe, reliable and maintenance friendly
- Totally enclosed belt guard confirming to OSHA Safety standards assures accident free operation

ML Series 5-30 HP Reciprocating Air Compressor
Curtis Masterline Reciprocating air compressors are the most robust, heavy-duty reciprocating air compressors available. The perfect combination of quality components and efficient design make the ML Series rugged, affordable and smart. Because every model is built tough to last a lifetime in demanding working conditions, the ML Series is an outstanding alternative to splash-lubricated reciprocating compressors and small rotary compressors. Choose higher quality. Choose superior durability. Choose ML Series pressure lubricated air compressors.
Features:
CENTRO-RING PRESSURE LUBRICATION
Patented FS-Curtis design
- Proprietary technology is an FS-Curtis exclusive
- Supplies pressurized oil internally to all bearings and critical wear surfaces through the rifle-drilled crankshaft and connecting rods
- Helps ensure maximum uptime and increase service life
100% CAST-IRON CYLINDER HEADS, CONNECTING RODS, AND CRANKSHAFT
All cast-iron where it counts for longer life with less maintenance.
- Some pumps claim 100% cast-iron yet still have aluminum cylinders, cylinder heads, connecting rods and crankshafts – not FS-Curtis
- Ductile cast-iron crankshaft and connecting rods are stronger, more corrosion-resistant and less likely to break
- Slow-turning pump increases pump life
- Rugged parts and construction for industrial performance
